What Do 7,742 Office Workers Say About Today’s Offices?
In our new office report, we present insights from more than 7,000 office workers in the Nordic region. The findings are based on insights from workplace analyses carried out between 2023 and 2026 – a period when many organisations re-evaluated their offices and ways of working.
The report answers questions that many organisations are grappling with:
- Is the physical office still important?
- Are today’s office spaces being used in the best possible way?
- Does the office environment support health and wellbeing?
- Does the office environment influence the choice of employer?

5 Insights From the Report
- The value of the office is back in focus. Employers want to bring people together on site, and the results show that more and more employees share this view.
- Many offices are incorrectly sized. The distribution between different work settings does not always align with the needs of the organisation.
- Focus areas are in short supply. Employees lack environments for uninterrupted focused work, which remains one of the office’s biggest challenges.
- The office environment matters for wellbeing. The results show a clear gap between how important the work environment is and how satisfied employees actually are with it today.
- There is a lack of a clear workplace strategy. In many organisations, it is not clearly defined or communicated why, when and how the office should be used.
